Tree Trimming at ACNA
Fri, Apr 03
|Antrim Creek Natural Area
Our friends from The Antrim Creek Natural Area are looking for some help trimming Hemlock trees along their trail system.

Time & Location
Apr 03, 2026, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Antrim Creek Natural Area, 9890 Old Dixie Hwy, Ellsworth, MI 49729, USA
About the event
Unfortunately, the invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid has been found in the Antrim Creek Natural Area. CAKE CISMA is working to protect the trees, and you can help! One way this pest spreads is via clothing when it’s warm and the adelgids are in the crawler stage. To reduce risk, now is a great time to trim any hemlock branches near the trails. Cut branches will be left off the trail in the woods.
We expect this activity to take a couple of hours.
Partner Organization: Glacial Hills Pathway & Natural Area is coordinating this volunteer effort. To sign up please email: Sue (kjellsue@mac.com)
Directions:
Take US-31 north to Rex Beach Road in Atwood.
Follow Rex Beach Road until it ends at Old Dixie Hwy.
The Antrim Creek Natural Area entrance is directly across the street.
Carefully follow the access road down to the parking lot.
What to Bring:
Gloves and sturdy shoes.
We will have some loppers available, but if you have an extension lopper, it can be helpful to bring along.
Come help us protect these beautiful trees while enjoying some time outdoors!
