About the event
Invasive species threaten the health of this beloved natural area by crowding out native plants that wildlife depend on. During this work session, volunteers will focus on identifying and removing priority invasive species along trails and high-use areas, helping maintain biodiversity and improve habitat quality throughout the natual area.
The Basics:
CAKE CISMA will provide gloves and all necessary tools for the work session. Staff will guide you through proper tool use, safety practices, invasive species identification, and why this work is so important. No prior experience is needed—just come ready to learn and lend a hand!
This activity is moderately strenuous, with volunteers often bending, kneeling, and walking uneven terrain along trails. Restrooms are limited to the trailhead, so please plan accordingly.
What should I bring?
Dress for the weather—check the forecast ahead of time
Long pants and long sleeves are recommended to protect against scratches
