Fall Colors: Native or Not?

Experience the beauty of northern Michigan in autumn while taking a closer look at the plants behind the season’s brilliant colors. Join CAKE CISMA and Antrim Conservation District staff for a guided hike highlighting the native trees and shrubs that make our fall landscapes so spectacular, along with the invasive plants hiding among them.

Along the trail, participants will learn how fall leaves, berries, bark, and late-season growth can help identify common species. We’ll also explore how these plants affect local forests and what each of us can do to help protect the natural areas we love.

Please come prepared for the weather and wear sturdy shoes suitable for walking on uneven terrain. No plant identification experience is necessary.
